Marquez achieves incredible podium in first MotoGP race

In the Grand Prix of Qatar, Repsol Honda‘s rookie Marc Marquez, took a fantastic 3rd position to claim a podium finish in his first race in the premier class with teammate Dani Pedrosa finishing just three seconds behind him in 4th position.

It was an intense race from the start with Dani moving up to second by the first corner. Marc dropped back briefly to 7th but fought through the pack and up to 4th by lap two and then up to 3rd, behind Dani by lap three, setting the fastest lap of the race with 1’55.445. The two Repsol Honda riders then stuck together for fourteen laps with only a few tenths between them, until Marc passed Dani on lap sixteen.

Repsol Honda duo dominate day one in Austin

Repsol Honda‘s Dani Pedrosa and Marc Marquez enjoyed a very positive first day at the Circuit of The Americas track in Austin.

It is the first time MotoGP has visited the Texas track, both riders exited the garage at 11am this morning and found the track very slippery from the start. On their first runs, they recorded lap times of around 2’12. However, as the track became cleaner and temperatures increased, the lap times steadily dropped.

Repsol Honda Team continue to progress in Malaysia

After the second day of the three day test in Sepang, the Repsol Honda Team remain on the top of the time sheets.

Dani Pedrosa, who completed 37 laps, recorded the fastest time of the day of 2’00.549 on lap 29. Dani, spent this second day working on weight distribution – to find the ideal placement of the additional 3kg as dictated by the new 2013 rules. In the afternoon he had planned to test the new rear tyre compound from Bridgestone, but after only 1 lap rain arrived and halted his testing for the day.

Repsol Honda Teammate, Marc Marquez, began the day as he left off yesterday, lapping in the low 2’01′s. Marc began to work with the electronics for the first time and continued to learn the braking point limit on the MotoGP machines. He completed 34 laps taking his fastest lap of 2’00.803 on lap 20, placing him 3rd on the time sheets.

Strong start for Repsol Honda Team in Sepang

The Repsol Honda Team have begun 2013 in the best possible way, with Dani Pedrosa and Marc Marquez finishing the first day 1st and 3rd respectively.

After a long winter break, Dani and Marc were keen to get out on track on their Honda RC213V machines and begin their testing programme. The predicted rain showers held off and allowed a full day of testing at the Sepang International Circuit where yesterday HRC staff placed flowers at the commemorative plaque in memory of Marco Simoncelli. Both riders spent the day working through their test programmes and working with the Honda engine in preparation for the strict new 2013 rule of five engines for the season.

The top times were exchanged between a handful of riders throughout the day but finally Dani finished on top recording his best time of 2’01.157 on lap 48 of 49. Marc, who was top of the sheets at lunchtime, finished third just 0.044 behind his teammate with a lap time of 2’01.201 set on lap 60 of 62.

Casey Stoner: an unforgettable 2011

The year 2011 was the Casey Stoner‘s year: the Australian rider has become the first World Champion for two times in the debut of a new bike.
The RC211V is undoubtedly a great motorbike, we know it, but only Casey has achieved unexpected goals with it, like none before….

Casey was involved in a triumphal ride with 9 wins, 1 second, 5 third places, for a total of 15 podiums and 11 pole positions, with two more races to go.
Stoner then finished on the podium in every race except for Jerez, where he had been involved in an accident in spite of himself.
