GAS WORLD’S FLAG AT THE CATALUNYA MOTOGP

This weekend GAS is in Barcelona for the grand finale of the GAS World’s Flag competition to design a flag for the world.

6 June 2008 – Montmeló, Barcelona This weekend GAS is in Barcelona for the grand finale of the GAS World’s Flag competition to design a flag for the world. On 6 June at the Catalunya 2008 Grand Prix the winner will be announced of the competition launched by GAS in February in conjunction with the “Fuorisalone”, international design week in Milan. The event will take place in the ”Avinguda de Campions” at 5pm when Nicky Hayden, GAS testimonial and his team mate Dani Pedrosa will award the winner’s prize. The competition invited contestants to create a symbol of belonging, a logo that identified without dividing; a flag that could be a component space inside which the whole world can be visualised. The competition attracted entries from many students enrolled in architecture and design institutes as well as artists, architects and designers from all over the world. As a result of this project, art and creativity come into contact with the world of sport, which GAS has been involved in through its support of motorcycle racing since 1996, when the company first discovered this most impressive and exciting of sports. Claudio Grotto, President and Founder of Grotto SpA, will take part in the prize-giving of the winner. The designs can still be seen at www.gasworldsflag.it. GAS4ARTS The competition is part of the GAS4ARTS project, a new way of experiencing art in which the brand is no longer simply a label applied to fashion goods but becomes a reference point for creative young people. GAS4ARTS aims to bring together the dynamic side of the art world with the cosmopolitan, contemporary spirit of GAS.
