GAS OPENS A NEW STORE IN AUCKLAND

As announced a year ago at the Wellington launch, Gas is opening its third store in Auckland, in partnership with Dan Carter, member of the New Zealand national rugby team.

15 October 2008 As announced a year ago at the Wellington launch, Gas is opening its third store in Auckland, in partnership with Dan Carter, member of the New Zealand national rugby team. The store is located at number 20 Nuffield Street, Newmarket, the most exciting, elegant and cosmopolitan shopping area in New Zealand. It will house the men’s, women’s and accessories collections in an airy, open space measuring 132 square metres, where the predominantly white backdrop highlights and accentuates the clothes on display. The denim in particular, which has always represented the company’s core business, is emphasised by a vintage setting combined with contemporary elements, such as the re-worked, wooden Denim Icon, which contrasts with the metal shelving. The opening will be a real party, with DJ sets and special guests from the sporting world.

GAS is proud of its partnership with Dan. This new opening is the latest example of the strong ties that Gas has always enjoyed with the sporting world and especially rugby, a passionate, healthily competitive sport that represents an entire lifestyle. Daniel Carter was born in Leeston on 5 March 1982. He made his debut as a professional rugby player in 2003 and joined the All Blacks in the same year, showing great talent at the age of just 21. Considered to be one of the top five players in the world, he has become a true rugby star. His calm manner off the field is in stark contrast to his behaviour on it, where he proves himself as a powerful player and an excellent tactician, thanks to his intuition and physique.
