“Io, l’altro”, the film directed by Tunisian-born Mohsen Melliti starring Raoul Bova and Giovanni Martorana, relied on GAS when it came to costuming the two stars. This is an independent film in which Raoul Bova also makes his debut as a producer: GAS embraces the social message and the values that it promotes. Values such as cultural integration and shared principles that transcend the barriers of religion and nationality. By lending its support to this producer-actor’s inspiring project, GAS aims to contribute to the promotion of those values.

GAS, a young-minded company with a young customer base that has always been a passionate supporter of national and international arts and sensitive to creativity and new cultural projects, appears in all film-related correspondence as a “Supporter of Italian cinema”. That definition exemplifies the passion that Grotto S.p.A., the owner of the GAS brand, has put into its participation in this film. “Io, l’altro” is the story of two long-standing friends and colleagues, Giuseppe and Yousef, who have always shared a passion for the sea. After years of work under an arrogant boss they decide to go independent and make their own business decisions while remaining in the midst of their best-loved element – water. It is water that divides their respective homelands, Italy and Tunisia, yet it is also water that brings Giuseppe and Yousef together. And it is during those endless hours at sea that the confrontation between their two cultures emerges, as the sea itself becomes the only escape route for Yousef when he is accused of terrorism. The trails and tribulations of the two protagonists expose their innermost nature, revealing the resoluteness of the principles in which they believe. “Io e l’altro” will be shown in cinemas all over Italy from 18th May 2007.
