GAS presents a preview of its Junior collection for Spring/Summer 2008 with a special event all about fun and friendship Pitti Bimbo is the place where you can witness not only the new GAS Junior Spring/Summer 2008 Collection but also the first ever “GAS JUNIOR RUGBY CUP”. A totally original runway takes the form of a rugby pitch where games and fashion share the same, GAS lifestyle and language. The starting whistle will sound at 11am on 30 June in the Cortile della Polveriera, inside the Fortezza da Basso. COMMENTARY: Players of all sizes will take to the pitch, lead by Diego Dominguez and Alessandro Troncon, respectively the former Italian team captain and the Man Of The Match during the last round of the Six Nations. Off the field a voice will read Peter Fenton’s ritual good luck poem dedicated to rugby. Meanwhile the two teams will line up on the pitch, one ready for the Italian national anthem and the other for the Haka, the legendary Maori dance in which the hands, feet, body, voice and eyes express the strength, courage and passion of the young sportsmen before the match. Moves, scrums, tackles and tries will fill the field while on the sidelines the GAS Junior S/S 2008 Collection will go on show. For the grand final, everyone will take to the pitch for the official handing over of the trophy for the first “GAS JUNIOR RUGBY CUP”. Adults and kids alike will be involved in this fun and exciting atmosphere on the pitch, in the collection and in the stand where, during the three days of the exhibition, the indispensable “third half” will be held. This is when the toil and sweat of the game give way to friendship and relaxation. The project is the result of a close friendship between Claudio Grotto, GAS founder and Chairman, and Diego Dominguez, who have also worked together on the1st DIEGO DOMINGUEZ RUGBY CAMP (Olbia, Sardinia from 25 to 30 June and 2 to 7 July), the first free campus designed and organised with the aim of cultivating a passion for the sport among young people. GAS and its Junior line will accompany the young athletes during the “third half” on this occasion too. GAS and rugby: a way of life.
