GAS announces a competition to produce a graphic design of a flag for the world GAS invites you to “design your own World Flag”, a symbol of belonging and membership rather than division and exclusion: a graphical design that unites people and brings them together. Students of architecture and of graphic design, draughtsmen, artists, architects and designers of all nationalities, are invited to provide their own interpretation of the theme of the competition. A socio-cultural challenge to creative people the world over! The creators of the best 10 designs shall be selected by a Jury of curators, critics and experts of contemporary art and shall be rewarded with a variety of wonderful prizes, including a weekend for two at the MotoGP of Catalunya (on the 8 June 2008) with exclusive access to the paddocks, vouchers to be spent in GAS stores, and your own flag design printed on hundreds of items on display the world over. The selected flags will in fact be displayed at a grand opening exhibition to be held in GAS’ prestigious Superstudiopiù space at number 27 Via Tortona, during Milan’s Fuorisalone (April 16 to 21 2008), the most important week of the year for world design. A travelling exhibition will follow. The GAS T-shirts printed with the winning designs will travel the world via GAS Stores situated in the major international cities.
